Elliott Ward will continue to be Coventry City’s penalty taker if he wants the job.
After firing wide against Sheffield United earlier in the season, Ward tried a cheeky chip against Southampton recently, only for the ball to drop tamely into the arms of the goalkeeper.
Chris Coleman told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire however: ‘If I were to say, ‘Elliot, you’re off penalties’, for me that is letting him off.
‘He’s a big boy and a strong character and can look after himself.
‘If we get a penalty I’m sure he’ll stick it in the back of the net.’
