Coventry City’s recent upturn in fortunes will be tested to the full on Saturday when they travel to face a Swindon Town side who have carried on where they left off last season when promoted from League Two.

Mark Robins has managed to make his team far tougher to beat over the past few weeks and, after grinding out wins against Oldham and Bournemouth and a draw with MK Dons, saw the Sky Blues cut loose with four second-half goals at York in midweek.

Now the City boss will look to outwit Paulo Di Canio after another ‘quiet’ week for the Robins and their Italian supremo which saw Di Canio linked with the vacant Bolton Wanderers job just days after Swindon were placed under a transfer embargo.

The embargo was put in place because the Wiltshire side have exceeded the Football League limit of spending 65% of turnover on wages and transfer fees although the club claim that the breach was because they had to pay the full transfer fee for summer signings James Collins and Troy Archibald-Henville in one lump sum after a tribunal ruling.

Sky Blues supporter Collins was linked with his hometown club during the summer when set to leave Shrewsbury but with City under their own embargo at the time there was no chance of a deal being done. He netted his first Swindon goal at Bury last weekend and will look to add to his tally on Saturday.
