Aidy Boothroyd is nothing if not positive in his post-match comments and the Coventry City manager refused to be downbeat about his side’s prospects for the season when speaking after the 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Although he bemoaned the ‘daft errors’ and ‘bad goals’ that saw his men slip to yet another league loss, Boothroyd vowed that things will get better at the Ricoh Arena.

‘At one time or another the sun will shine on us,’ was his verdict.

‘It wasn’t so long ago that Forest were scrapping around where we are and now they’re heading for promotion. I’m convinced we’ll do that – in fact I know we’ll do it because I’ve done it before.’

Opposite number Billy Davies was delighted with three points against what he called a ‘very difficult, very physical side’.
