Barnsley are set to unleash Diego Leon on Coventry City this Saturday as the Tykes look for their first win of the season.

The Spaniard featured only briefly at QPR last weekend but impressed in defeat at Crewe on Tuesday night.

Manager Simon Davey said: ‘He looked very sharp.

‘His general play was good and he looked dangerous in and around the box.

‘If we can take any positives out of the game, he was one.’

Davey was at the Ricoh Arena on Wednesday to watch the Sky Blues ease past Aldershot in the League Cup.

‘Coventry looked a decent side,’ he told the Sheffield Star.

‘They got the goals at crucial times and took their chances when they arrived.

‘We’ve got to try to make sure we don’t allow them any chances.

‘It’s the same in every game in this division: the strikers will punish you if you give them the opportunity.’
