The Sky Blues go into today’s game with Preston North End knowing that their own hopes of a top-six finish have been all but ended by last week’s defeat at Crewe.

With games against Wolves and Cardiff to come however, as well as against Preston, manager Micky Adams wants his side to finish the season strongly.

He told the CET: ‘We can still do some damage and that’s what we will certainly be looking to do on Saturday by trying to beat Preston and put a dent in their promotion bid.

‘This is the sort of game my players usually look forward to and have shown they can handle.

‘They (Preston) haven’t won too many games lately but they beat Crewe the other day and will come here in confident mood.

‘You need everyone fit at this time of the season and Dave Nugent and Danny Dichio are a big loss to them. Our season ends in a month but their’s is possibly not over for two months if things go well for them.’
