A Ragged Mob Arrives at The Matchroom

Coventry City return to London for the second time this week on Saturday for a League One fixture against Leyton Orient and…blah blah blah.

In truth it is getting harder and harder to think and write anything positive about the Sky Blues after Tuesday night’s defeat at Brentford.

It’s not just one game that is getting supporters down it is the fact that, match after match, month after month and season after season, the same scenario keeps being replayed no matter who is in charge and which players are on the field.

‘awful’

City have now been awful since the beginning of the 2000/01 season, save brief periods under Roland Nilsson, Eric Black and Micky Adams, none of which brought even a play-off place to bear.

In the week that Ceefax signed off, the manner of finding out about the latest depressing defeat for those not at the game may be more technologically advanced but the end result is still the same.

Still, a large contingent of Sky Blues supporters will be in East London for this one, determined to enjoy their day no matter what the outcome. Let’s hope the news is of a rare good day come 5pm on Saturday.
