A season of large away followings for Coventry City continues this weekend with 1,200 tickets sold for the journey to London to face promotion-chasing Brentford at Griffin Park.

Although the Sky Blues need more points on the board to avoid a relegation scrap at the end of the season, essentially it is a meaningless game for the visitors which makes the travelling support all the more impressive.

An increase in the number of supporters making the journey to away games was always to be expected at the beginning of the season but the figures continue to hold into March.

With a number of articles recently containing the word ‘demise’ in relation to Coventry City, another four-figure support is a reminder that the club continues to exist and act as a focal point, much-reduced but still with just a glimmer of hope remaining that there are more chapters to be written in its long history.
