35 seconds was all it took for Coventry City to effectively lose Saturday’s Championship clash against Reading, that being the time it took for the visitors to open the scoring at the Ricoh Arena.

‘We had a very, very young team and when you concede a goal like that, your bubble has burst before you have started,’ admitted manager Chris Coleman afterwards.

In the drop zone prior to the game, the Royals received a surge of confidence from taking the lead so early on and could have been two up before the break.

‘We had a great start and I have kept enforcing to the players the importance of a strong start,’ said their boss Brendan Rodgers.

When Reading did double their advantage, it signalled the Sky Blues’ best spell of the game but Freddy Eastwood’s reply was soon made redundant by a third goal for the away side.

‘We have to pick ourselves up it is as simple as that,’ added Coleman, with his side now lying 16th in the table.
