Having impressed a nationwide audience with his display against Portsmouth in the FA Cup, Leon Best’s screamer against the Premier League paupers would be one of his last acts in a Coventry City shirt.

His hot and cold stay at the Ricoh Arena was summed up by the fact that his next and final outing at the ground drew cheers from the crowd when he was substituted.

Out of contract in the summer, he spent much of January being linked with a move to Middlesbrough but ended the month at their North-East rivals Newcastle United.
