Whichever team Tottenham Hotspur field for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Coventry City at White Hart Lane, a tough test awaits the Sky Blues as they look to cause an upset against the side currently sitting in third place in the Premier League.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas named a strong side for his team’s Capital One Cup fixtures earlier this season and also fielded a very strong line-up when at Chelsea for the corresponding FA Cup Round in 2011/12.

Scott Parker continued his return from injury with a substitute’s appearance against Reading on New Year’s Day and is a candidate to start the City game as is Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson and striker Emmanuel Adebayor as he delays a decision on whether to link up with Togo for the African Cup of Nations.

Coach Steffen Freund has also hinted that Benoit Assou-Ekotto could be in the starting XI.

Asked about the game against the Sky Blues, Sigurdsson told the official THFC website: ‘They come up against a top Premier League side and they will come here, want to do a job and take the chance to impress everyone.’

‘We have to make sure we`re ready for that and we’re in the draw for the next round.’
