Coventry City travel to face bottom of the table Preston North End on 19 March but despite their lowly league position the Lilywhites are still thinking big in terms of a potential loan signing.

Manager Phil Brown has spoken to Robbie Fowler in recent days with the 35-year-old having returned home from Australia keen to find a new club in England, especially one close to his Merseyside roots.

Brown told the Lancashire Evening Post: ‘He is a possibility, in terms of I’d have to see the lad, find out what the financial situation is.

‘I always like sitting down opposite somebody, looking into the whites of their eyes and seeing how hungry they are.

‘The chairman has said to me that there is the finance to bring another loan player or two in, so it just depends what Robbie brings to the party.’
