Coventry City defender Andrew Whing is hoping to secure a more permanent move to Brighton & Hove Albion, where he is currently on loan.

‘I think Dean White (Brighton assistant boss) is going to speak to Coventry manager Micky Adams this week about a deal,’ said the full-back, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

‘I am very happy here. I am playing games, we are playing really well and everybody has been great to me.’

  • His Passion – unquestioned. His loyalty – unrivalled. His ability – unproven. Good luck to Whingy, hope it works out for him. Would love to see him back in a few years when he has properly cut his teeth.

  • After Duffy’s attempt at football on saturday it is now clearer than ever we need Whingy back with us. Fat chance though. We have let another potentially great player go. Stupid.

  • I disagree slightly with how much skyblueox rates him but Whingy should have been in the team during McNamee;s absence instead of going for a loan player.
