Watford host Coventry City in the Championship on Saturday in what will be Aidy Boothroyd’s first time in the visting dug-out at Vicarage Road.

‘It will be good to see him again on Saturday but he is bringing his team down to make it tough,’ Hornets manager Malky Mackay told the Watford Observer ahead of a meeting with his former boss.

‘We have to make sure we go out with the right mentality.’

Both sides are close to full strength for the fixture, with Watford unlikely to make too many changes from their opening two games.

Goalkeeper Scott Loach will be back however after being handed a surprise call-up to the England squad for their friendly against Hungary.

His opposite number will be Keiren Westwood, himself having returned from international duty.

He is likely to be behind a Sky Blues side which looks a lot like the team that defeated Portsmouth on Saturday rather than the much-changed League Cup XI that took on Morecambe.
