Walsall are resigned to another season in League One after Saturday’s defeat by Bournemouth and manager Richard Money has said the sale of Scott Dann and Daniel Fox to Coventry has been a key factor.

‘It has been a real effort since the two players went to Coventry,’ Money said.

‘You can’t help there being a demotivation factor in the dressing room. It’s been hard.

‘But it’s the job of the management team to keep spirits as high as we can and I think, in the main, we have kept things going pretty well.

‘It’s only recently that we appear to have hit the wall.’

***Update***A day after his comments were reported, Money has quit the Bescot Stadium.
