Bristol City host Coventry City at Ashton Gate on Tuesday evening after a crucial 2-1 victory against Carlisle United on Saturday lifted them out of the relegation places in League One.

Manager Steve Cotterill was pleased with the way his players turned around a one-goal deficit at half-time, substitute Marvin Elliott netting twice.

‘In the modern game, it is always very difficult when you go 1-0 down at home, especially when you are down at the bottom of the table,’ said Cotterill afterwards.

The game, the reverse fixture of the crazy 5-4 Sky Blues win in their first ‘home’ match at Sixfields, should see belated debuts for Steven Pressley’s new signings, Nathan Delfouneso, Rory Donnelly and Dylan McGeouch, after the weekend clash with Walsall was washed out.

Although some fixture congestion may be being stored up with landlords Northampton also having a recent game postponed, a free weekend for City may not have been badly timed given the efforts of a small squad over the past month.
