Colchester United defender Wayne Brown believes his side will bounce back from their 5-1 defeat at Derby with a good display against Coventry City on Saturday.

The U’s have been tough to beat at Layer Road all season and Brown said: ‘We’ve scored a lot of goals this season and got a lot of praise, but we’ve also been strong defensively, especially at home.

‘So we’re not going to be disheartened.

‘After we lost badly at Plymouth we came back strongly against Burnley in the next game, and it’s up to us to put it right against Coventry.’

  • …but we have the small matter of the our cup exit at Layer Rd a couple of years ago to put right. This ones for you Eric Black!

  • Colchester are on for a big win, I’m sure that we could put one over on you this weekend. Don’t write off Colchester United.

  • And I’m sorry, but I wasn’t a little run. It will be a culture sock for all concerned from the Midlands on Saturday
