Whatever the outcome of Sunday’s game at Charlton Athletic, Coventry City boss Chris Coleman will be a busy man in the transfer market next week.

The ability to offer Championship football will obviously influence his wheeling and dealing but Coleman will be backed by chairman Ray Ranson even if City do drop into League One.

‘We had hoped to start moving on a few people this week,’ he told the Coventry Telegraph.

‘We thought we would be safe and we couldn’t really get them in before that because some of the players we want need to know whether we are going to be in the Championship.

‘So we have had to wait another week before we can go and get people. We need five or six players if we are serious.’
