Ward recently notched up his 100th appearance for the club after a £1m move from West Ham United.
“I am pleased with the way things are going for me here and how I have developed,’ he told the Coventry Telegraph.
‘Obviously I would like to be higher in the league but I think I have progressed as a player and that my game has got better all round.
“But I have still got a lot to learn and that`s what the manager is here for and hopefully I can help the team get back up the league.”
