Coventry City’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night has captured the imagination of the local public to such an extent that the Ricoh Arena will be a 32,000 sell-out for the game.

The club deserve huge praise for continuing their £5 ticket offer, a price that will once again attract lapsed supporters and families to a venue that they may not have otherwise come to all season.

Of all competitions it has been the JPT that has gone some way to reconnecting the club with its community at a time when it looked as though the link between the two may have been broken forever.

The fans who come on Tuesday may not come back too often but they will be left with a good feeling about CCFC while the attendance figure will present a positive image to the wider football world that the club, despite reports to the contrary, is not dead yet!
