A late call-off of their scheduled National League North game at Stockport County on Saturday left Nuneaton Town with a wasted journey and fearful of a similar scenario this coming weekend when they are due to make the long trip to face Spennymoor.

Leamington’s game went ahead but the Brakes suffered a damaging home defeat at the hands of title-chasing Harrogate Town and remain just one point above the relegation zone.

Bedworth United lost at home to promotion rivals Stamford but there was a good win for Stratford away to Dunstable.

In the Midland Football League Premier Division, Coventry Sphinx drew at Boldmere and Rugby Town lost to leaders Bromsgrove Sporting at Butlin Road.

There’s not a great deal of local action for those supporters not travelling to Brighton this weekend but Stratford Town are at home to Dorchester Town in the Evo-Stik South Premier and Coventry Copsewood entertain Racing Club Warwick in the Midland Football League Division One.

Before that, Coventry United host Boldmere St Michaels on Wednesday evening.
