The end of the season is nigh, another terrible one in many ways for Coventry City Football Club but punctuated by a glorious afternoon at Wembley earlier this month.

Two more loose ends are set to be tied up on the pitch (off-field matters will rumble on throughout the summer of course) starting with the first-team’s final match of the campaign at Scunthorpe United this Sunday afternoon.

Apart from pride, the Sky Blues are playing to stay off the bottom of League One, defeat and an unlikely win for Chesterfield at champions Sheffield United being the only combination of results that can put City to the foot of the table.

Their opponents now know that they cannot go up automatically but will be looking to tune up for the play-offs with a victory on Sunday.

One Coventry team with a lot left to play for are the Under-18’s who meet Sheffield United in the National Championship Final on Wednesday 10 May and will do so at the Blades’ Bramall Lane ground.
