City have confirmed that they will travel to Northern Ireland in pre-season to take on Glentoran on Tuesday 24 July and Ballymena on Saturday 28 July.

‘We’d like to see as many City fans as possible during our pre-season fixtures,’ said managing director Paul Fletcher.

‘These matches are key in our preparation for next season, allowing new players to gel and giving everybody match fitness before the big kick-off.’

One-time Sky Blues striker Gareth Evans has returned to another of his former clubs Hibernian as reserve-team boss. He had been assisting another ex-City man Michael O’Neill at Brechin City.

Former loan winger Richie Partridge has moved to Chester City from Rotherham while another loan star, goalkeeper Marton Fulop, wants out at Sunderland.

‘If I can’t do it at Sunderland then I may change club – fortunately I have a few offers,’ the 24-year-old told the press in Hungary after making only a handful of appearances last season.

‘When Sunderland signed me I was told I would be first choice for a long period. I do my best in training – (Roy) Keane confirmed this too – and I played well in the displays I had.’

John Eustace meanwhile is attracting interest from other Championship clubs as he approaches the end of his Stoke City contract.
