Ahead of their League Two game against Coventry City on Tuesday evening, Swindon Town have bolstered their defensive options with a new signing.

Free agent Matt Preston, out of contract and able to move outside of the transfer window, has penned a deal with the Wiltshire club until the end of the season.

Former City defender Chris Hussey is a doubt for the home side going into the match, the left-back sustaining an injury in Friday evening’s 2-0 win at Forest Green.

28-year-old Hussey is on loan at Swindon from Sheffield United and has been an impressive performer for David Flitcroft’s side during the campaign to date.
