Supporting City Elsewhere An Individual Call

As the Sky Blues Trust confirm that they have turned down an offer from Coventry City chief executive Tim Fisher to work with him in planning a ‘contingency’ move away from the Ricoh Arena it may be that supporters of the Sky Blues have a big decision to make later this summer.

After putting the vote to their members, the Trust have urged the club to negotiate a deal with ACL in order that they can continue playing in CV6 next season.

That’s a fair call to make for an organisation that represents supporters but as individuals we may have a tough call to make sooner rather than later.

Some fans will want to see their team regardless of where they play. Some will attend occasionally out of novelty value and if results are good then some more may come along. Some, of course, will go only to away games and not set foot in a ‘home’ ground that is not in Coventry.

What must be avoided, if this is the situation that arises, is supporters turning against each other. None of the above stances is worth more than another.
