Stern John remains hopeful of signing a new contract at Coventry City as his current deal approaches its final few months.

‘It was fantastic to hear my name being chanted from the stands and I feel welcome at Coventry now, and I feel it is my home,’ John told the Coventry Telegraph.

‘I want to make it my home, so I am thankful to the fans because the last couple of seasons have been up and down for me, but it is always good to hear them singing your name.

‘So hopefully I can continue scoring some goals and they will continue singing my name.’

The 30-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international has netted 26 goals in 72 league games (59 starts) since joining the Sky Blues from Birmingham City in September 2004.
