Stark Warning From Sky Blue Chief

Another week, another stark warning about the future of Coventry City Football Club as chief executive Tim Fisher has said that talks with insolvency practitioners have been held after the failure to sign off accounts and the subsequent transfer embargo.

Mr Fisher places the blame squarely at the feet of Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) for their action in pursuing a debt order against the club for unpaid rent which has led to the freezing of bank accounts.

As such it is hard to know whether this is a genuine warning or simply another salvo in the long-running battle between the parties.

Weary Sky Blues supporters will turn up to back the team against Swindon on Saturday against the backdrop of more uncertainty about the future of their club. They may, however, see yet another new signing (confusingly given the dire warnings being made).

Prior to Thursday’s midnight transfer embargo, versatile free agent Jordan Stewart was handed a three-month contract to bolster Lee Carsley’s squad.
