After what has been another traumatic week for all Sky Blue followers there was at least a respite from all the off field nastiness when City opened the new season with a win at Nuneaton in their first friendly game.

After going behind on five minutes to a goal by Louis Moult, City stepped up a gear and ran out worthy winners with goals from Callum Wilson after 14 minutes, a brace from Leon Clarke at 54 and 85 and the fourth goal from Franck Moussa four minutes from time.

Clarke will be a key figure if Steven Pressley’s side are going to be anywhere near competitive in League One this season and his return to full fitness and goalscoring start is a rare piece of good news for the Sky Blues boss.
