Coventry City enter their 10th successive season at Championship level with another new manager at the helm in the shape of Aidy Boothroyd.

The former Watford and Colchester boss will lead his new team into action against 23 opponents, who Vital Coventry will be looking at over the next few weeks.

Head-to-head: The noughties have seen the two sides meet on 16 occasions, 14 in the Championship and twice in the FA Cup.

Cardiff have had the better of the league meetings, winning 7 and drawing 4, City’s last win coming early on in the 2007/08 season.

Transfer dealings: Recently released Sky Blues goalkeeper Dimi Konstantopoulos played 6 times on loan for Cardiff early in 2009 while Robert Page made the move from South Wales to the Midlands after Micky Adams arrived as City manager in February 2005.

Current Cardiff favourite Jay Bothroyd played 83 times for City between 2000 and 2003.

The man in charge Dave Jones pledged his future to Cardiff in the wake of their play-off defeat against Blackpool at Wembley but reports in recent days have suggested that Hull City want him to succeed Phil Brown as boss at the KC Stadium.
