Coventry City supporters will make up more than half of the crowd at Accrington on Saturday afternoon, around 1,500 fans making the journey to Lancashire for a League Two fixture.

An away fan zone will be in place from 1pm at the Wham Stadium and the financial boost that the travelling support will bring will benefit a club who, sadly unlike CCFC, remain firmly rooted in their local community.

On the pitch, of course, there is nothing between the two clubs as they both occupy a play-off place in the division and Stanley boss John Coleman is right to say ‘we’re competing with them in our own right now’ when previewing the match.

‘They do have a large budget but we will always put a team out that can compete with anybody.

‘If football was about money you would just have chairmen writing cheques to one another, it`s what you do out on the pitch for 90 minutes that counts.’
