Not only did Coventry City turn in another hugely impressive away performance on Saturday, coming from a goal down to defeat in-form Lincoln City in a cracker at Sincil Bank, but their previous victory on the road received a form boost as well.

The Sky Blues ran out 3-0 winners at Luton Town in their last league away game and that win looks all the better as the Hatters once again went goal-crazy at the weekend.

Their 7-0 hammering of Cambridge United at Kenilworth Road was the third time this season that they have notched that many goals in a home game (adding an eighth against Yeovil on the opening day) but the Bedfordshire men were severely restricted by the City rearguard and unable to create much in the way of clear-cut chances.

With Duckens Nazon getting the winner at Lincoln it capped a good day for current and former Coventry strikers.

Kwame Thomas, loaned out to Solihull Moors in the week, scored on his National League debut and although he appears well down the pecking order at the Ricoh Arena there should at least be some interest in his signature come the January transfer window.

And Callum Wilson marked his return from a second serious injury with a hat-trick for Bournemouth against Huddersfield in the Premier League.

The former Sky Blues man will be taking it game-by-game on his comeback but, with the situation so fluid among the England squad at present and a host of players having been handed their debuts by Gareth Southgate last week, maybe one eye will be on the 2018 World Cup?
