Coventry City travel to Prenton Park on Wednesday for their next pre-season friendly.

Tranmere are under new management for next season after Ronnie Moore, a favourite as a player there in the past took over from Brian Little in the summer.

Moore has certainly been busy in the transfer market with ex-Barnsley winger Chris Shuker, Paul McLaren of Rotherham, ex Sky-Blues goalkeeper Gavin Ward and experienced striker Gareth Taylor among his new signings.

Most famous face in the Tranmere squad is former Liverpool and Bolton star Jason McAteer.

City will certainly be hoping for a better result than their last trip to the Wirral. A league cup tie in 1999 ended in a 5-1 win for the home side against the then-Premiership Sky Blues.
