Sky Blues look for a loan boost

With the optimism of the first two games having evaporated somewhat over the past week, Coventry City may look to the loan market to provide a boost for the tough schedule of games ahead.

Championship clubs can sign players on an ’emergency` basis as from next week and although a right-back is clearly a priority in the short-term, width further forward also looks like it is needed on the basis of the defeat at Doncaster.

Julian Gray`s departure for Fulham won`t have the City faithful shedding any tears but he was perhaps the only genuine wideman available to Chris Coleman and, as at Barnsley recently, could help stretch the game to the Sky Blues` advantage, creating space elsewhere which the likes of Michael Mifsud took full advantage of.

When asked to provide the width himself, as at the Keepmoat on Saturday, Mifsud is not the answer while behind him, Stephen Wright`s promising start has been cut short, hopefully on a temporary basis only.
