Coventry City are in talks with their landlords over a deal on the rent for the Ricoh Arena as the Boxing Day deadline issued by ACL looms nearer.

‘The club can confirm that we’re now in talks with ACL,’ said a club statement.

‘However, whilst these talks are ongoing it wouldn’t be right for us to make any further statements or to comment on any aspect of the situation.’

If the Ricoh remains home to the Sky Blues then it will host the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Northern Area semi-final on Thursday 10th January with the visit of either Bury or Preston North End scheduled for live Sky TV coverage.

An ankle injury, meanwhile, is set to rule Callum Ball out of action for a while as Mark Robins prepares his side for the visit to joint-top Doncaster Rovers at the weekend. The manager will have at least one selection decision to make as captain Carl Baker is suspended.
