Coventry City have landed a financial windfall from Thursday night’s League Cup draw as they will travel to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in the third round of the competition.

Having battled past Birmingham City earlier this week the draw pits the Sky Blues against one of the Premier League giants who have a reputation for using the League Cup to blood more of their talented youngsters from across the globe.

It will be a first visit to the Emirates Stadium for City who last faced the Gunners in this competition in November 1997 when both clubs were in the top flight and were separated by a Dennis Bergkamp goal after extra time.
