Tributes are being paid to one of Coventry City’s most popular former players after the death of Cyrille Regis was announced on Monday.

Aged just 59, Cyrille was of course part of the 1987 FA Cup winning side but will be remembered not only for his performances on the field but also as a pioneer for black footballers in the English game after his emergence in the excellent West Bromwich Albion side of the late 1970’s.

A regular visitor to the Ricoh Arena in recent years, Coventry City will mark Cyrille’s passing at this Saturday’s game against Swindon Town.
