Andy Thorn is keen for Coventry City to be celebrating next season after seeing at close quarters the party atmosphere generated by Norwich City’s promotion to the top flight.

The Canaries and the Sky Blues fought out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Carrow Road on the final day of the season but although Coventry can take heart from a good end to the season under Thorn they have now become the Championship’s longest serving team with Preston’s relegation.

‘There is a lot of confidence and a strong dressing room here’ said the Sky Blues boss after once again seeing his team turn in a positive, attacking display.

‘I am disappointed the season is at an end, as I would have liked to kept going.

‘We want to enjoy this sort of occasion ourselves, and I cant see any reason why we cant do that.

‘This is what we want and next season, who knows?’
