Season as it happened – November

The month begins poorly with a dismal away defeat at Stoke City in front of the Sky cameras (although the thick fog thankfully masks the paucity of the Sky Blues attacking play).

A 2-1 home defeat by Derby follows and when 10-man Sheffield Wednesday take the lead at the Ricoh a week later the grumbles in the crowd threaten to get louder.

Thankfully City equalise with an own goal, the visitor’s have another player sent off and a 3-1 home win is the final result.

Don Hutchison however breaks his ankle during the game and has to be stretchered off.

Dele Adebola then scores the only goal of the game at QPR and the equaliser in a 1-1 draw at Preston to end November on a positive note.

Boss Micky Adams allows Matt Heath and Wayne Andrew to leave on loan and brings in Darren Currie from Ipswich to boost City’s creative options.

‘He goes to Coventry with our best wishes and we’ll see how things develop from there,’ says Portman Road boss Jim Magilton.
