Scunthorpe United have the chance to climb off the foot of the Championship when they face travel-sick Coventry City on Saturday.

The Iron have battled hard all season after being promoted and remain firmly in touch with the teams above them.

Manager Nigel Adkins told a midweek fans’ forum: ‘We’re looking forward to it.

‘It’s a massive game (against Coventry) and there’s a quarter of the season still left to go.

‘We are exactly where we thought we would be – in with a shout of staying in the Championship.

‘And everybody has got to grab an oar and get behind each other. It’s a great year, everybody has got to enjoy the whole season and we have still got a quarter of it left to go.’

Geoff Horsfield (hamstring) and midfielder Ian Morris are home doubts ahead of the game.

Morris has a bug which looks set to rule out Mamadou Seck but Jack Cork and Jim Goodwin look to jave recovered in time.

Midfielder Grant McCann is available after suspension.
