A definite sign of Coventry City’s upward mobility is the number of players linked with a move to the Ricoh Arena since the end of the season in contrast to the same period last year.

Vital Football looks at a few of those supposedly on their way to the Sky Blues.

Goalkeepers – Marton Fulop is clearly the club’s number one target but so far a fee has not been agreed for the 23-year-old Tottenham man. Interest from elsewhere could push him out of City’s price range.

Stephen Bywater – On loan at the club before Fulop and impressive at the start of last season. Is behind Roy Carroll, Shaka Hislop and Jimmy Walker in the West Ham pecking order.

Neil Alexander – Cardiff City’s Scottish international. Only has one year left on his contract and the Bluebirds are listening to offers for all of their players.

Defenders – Rhys Weston – Another Cardiff City player, this time a Welsh international. Fears for future at Ninian Park after signing of Glenn Loovens and Micky Adams does want someone to challenge Andy Whing at right-back.

Dan Harding – Leeds left-back and England under-21 international. Deal less likely now that Marcus Hall has agreed a new contract but could join on loan and allow Hall to play at centre-back.

Calum Davenport – Spurs would want a good percentage of their money back for a permanent deal and Davenport is unlikely to want to drop down to the Championship on loan.
