Much-maligned Coventry City striker Leon Best may have been the subject of the Ricoh Arena boo-boys in recent weeks but he remains upbeat about turning his season around.

Speaking to the official club website, the 22-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday loanee said: ‘It’s a great atmosphere to play in.

‘I did enjoy it at Wednesday but even so I’m certainly not going to turn down a hat-trick.

‘I’ve swapped boots from the plastic type I was using and gone for my leather Ronaldinho pair so hopefully a bit of class will rub off on me.’

The opposition Owls have striker worries of their own ahead of Saturday’s game.

Star man Akpo Sodje made his comeback last weekend at Derby but went off with a hamstring injury and will be out for up to six weeks.

Manager Brian Laws told the Sheffield Star: ‘Unfortunately, the results of a scan on Akpo revealed a tear in the hamstring.

‘This is not the same injury as before, but once you get a hamstring injury, they are notorious for ongoing problems in the same muscle group and it looks like Akpo will be out for between four and six weeks.’

Best is a top-price of 9/1 to score the first goal on Saturday. For Wednesday, Francis Jeffers can be backed at the same price.
