Coventry City’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Area Final is here at last!

After the snowballing of interest in the club’s run in the competition led to a sell-out crowd for the game against Crewe Alexandra it is finally time for the players to do their bit on the pitch and the fans to do theirs in the stands.

Speaking to the club’s official website, manager Mark Robins said: ‘Everyone is looking forward to it. It isn’t every week we get a full Ricoh Arena and we know when it is full, it is going to be special.

Pleasingly, the Sky Blues head into the fixture having continued their excellent league form and with the cup acting as a spur not a distraction.

Robins continued: ‘The players haven’t stopped talking about it and everyone wants to be in that team. They are full of confidence at the moment and to go into the game on the back of the win over Sheffield United, well, it’s ideal.

‘What is important, though, is that the crowd gets behind them and stays with them through the entire 90 minutes. We want them to be 100 per cent partisan in supporting their team and that is why they have a crucial role to play.’
