Robins looks for positives after Sky Blues draw

Mark Robins got his first real taste on Saturday afternoon of the kind of match that Coventry City supporters have grown accustomed to over the past few seasons.

Two goals to the good at Swindon entering the final quarter of an hour, few Sky Blues fans, whether at the game or following it at home, would have bet their savings on three points at the end.

‘Typical City/United/Wednesday/Whoever’ is a cry that many supporters make each weekend but it is true of CCFC over the past few seasons that taking the lead is no guarantee of a positive result while going a goal behind means a win is highly unlikely.

Robins is the latest manager tasked with changing that perception around but he tried to take the positives out of a result that would have been seen as a good one before his arrival at the club.

‘I was disappointed with the ending, but three weeks ago we were talking turning losses into draws,’ he said.

‘We were under the cosh in the last 15 minutes, but managed to cope with a strong Swindon side and have a week now to prepare for our next match.’
