Coventry City frustrated hosts Swansea on Tuesday evening to add another point to their Championship tally, after a defensive display that was praised by both bosses.

‘It wasn’t a good game but they closed all the spaces and it caused us problems,’ said Swans manager Paulo Sousa, whose side’s troubles in front of goal continued to the detriment of their play-off hopes.

‘Not every team will defend as well as they did but we made some bad decisions and we must keep possession better.’

Chris Coleman knew the kind of opposition the Sky Blues would be facing and said: ‘They keep possession well but we have worked tactically over the last few days on how to close them down.

‘The hard work has earned us a point.’

City fans would have been fearing the worst come injury time after stoppage time defeats against Portsmouth and Ipswich.

‘To come to Swansea and hang on after losing our last two games by late goals was a big test of character and we came through it well,’ added Coleman.
