It was tense at times, especially after Peterborough pulled it back to 2-2 but Coventry City came up with a crucial winning goal to take three points from Saturday’s basement battle at the Ricoh Arena.

Praising the fans for their positive contribution to the day, boss Chris Coleman was delighted with his side’s determination when faced with a Posh comeback.

‘Fair play to Peterborough, they forced us back in the second half. When they got the first goal back, you could smell the fear was back.

‘I thought we showed great character to come back and win because there was a lot of pressure on everybody.’

Hat-trick hero Freddy Eastwood has looked sharp in recent weeks while playing out wide and responded in style to moving back up front.

‘He (Eastwood) really warms to the kind of reception the fans gave him,’ Coleman told the official club website after the match.
