Doncaster Rovers have once again been busy in the transfer market as they look to overhaul Portsmouth and Coventry City and then make their way out of the Championship’s relegation zone.

The South Yorkshire club, whose transfer activity is being co-ordinated by agent Willie McKay, have snapped up West Ham United striker Frederic Piquionne.

Now 33, the Frenchman could make an immediate debut in Tuesday night’s big survival battle at Nottingham Forest.

The Sky Blues face a tough task of their own at home to an in-form Crystal Palace side but will have manager Andy Thorn back in the dugout after illness ruled him out of the trip to Leicester.

Thorn will decide whether to make changes from that defeat as Sammy Clingan and Cody McDonald vie for a start.
