Referee Michael Oliver would have been at fault for Coventry City dropping two points against leaders Wolves on Saturday, according to Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman.

A last-gasp penalty award to the visitors brought them the chance of a draw, only for Kieren Westwood to save from the spot.

‘Had we drawn the game it wouldn’t have been my players’ fault it would have been the referee’s because it’s not a penalty,’ said Coleman, incensed at the call to penalise Ben Turner for an alleged foul.

‘I have seen it again and I don’t know how he can give it because he is behind a crowd of players.

‘Luckily for us Keiren saved the penalty. He’s a quality keeper. He’s only young and he is part of what we are trying to build here.’
