The pressure is building at the foot of the Championship as a host of teams, including Coventry City prepare for the final three games of the season.

Blackpool have been dragged into the dogfight in recent weeks and manager Simon Grayson told BBC Radio Lancashire: ‘There’s no doubt about it, if we don’t get a point from now until the end of the season then we will be relegated.

‘We need another win. The Sheffield Wednesday match on Saturday has now taken on much greater significance.’

Leicester City currently lie in the bottom three but defender Richard Stearman told BBC Radio Leicester: ‘A few teams have been sucked into the scrap now and there are still four or five sides in there who we can catch.

‘We have to play teams around us so we need three points at Barnsley before we look to the Sheffield Wednesday game.’

The Owls themselves have drawn their last seven games and have survival in their own hands as they have to face rivals Blackpool and Leicester.

Their manager Brian Laws said: ‘Unless somebody falls away and starts losing the next three games, which I doubt, Leicester will be fighting, Blackpool will be fighting, Coventry, we’re all fighting in there and nobody is going to give up.’
