Malky Mackay brings his Watford side to the Ricoh Arena on Sunday for the final game of a long and difficult season for the rookie boss.

Financial problems have overshadowed the campaign at Vicarage Road but recent weeks have seen positive news on that front go hand in hand with safety on the pitch being secured by the win over Reading.

“For Watford to be in the Championship next year is a massive thing for this local community,’ said Mackay, quoted in the Watford Obersver.

‘It is a small community and it has a real core of people.

“I think after being hours away from administration in the dark days of December, when office staff who have been here for ten, 15 years could have lost their jobs, to get to the point where we are now, and although there are still some tough times ahead of us, to be in this division and to allow us the chance to perform at this level, is massive.”

The Hornets will be looking to repeat their feats at Coventry City’s last home game of the 2008/09 season when Brendan Rodgers’ side came from two goals down to take the points.
