It’s all change for Plymouth Argyle as they prepare for what has been termed a ‘must-win’ game against Coventry City this weekend, with Paul Mariner taking charge at Home Park for the first time.

The former Pilgrims striker has drafted in John Carver as his assistant and after watching the Sky Blues on television recently, he told the Plymouth Herald: ‘I thought they were hard working and they will be a threat at set plays, especially the long throws.

‘They are well drilled and they have a little bit of flair in the wide areas. They do like to put the ball in the box.

‘They have got a bit of strength up front so we are in for a tough game, but it’s one we can go and win.’

Richard Wood is available again for City, leaving Chris Coleman with a decision to make at the heart of the defence, while Freddy Eastwood will look to build on his hat-trick against Peterborough when he again partners Leon Best in attack.
