Having rescued his Coventry City career towards the end of the 2004/05 season, Dele Adebola continued where he left off this year.

The 30-year-old was a virtual ever present in attack and attracted interest from Sheffield United after a good start to the season that saw him score on the opening day against Norwich, and notch two against QPR in the first game at the Ricoh Arena.

After pairing up with a few different players in the first-half of the season, Adebola struck up a good partnership with Stern John when he returned from his loan spell at Derby County.

The big man’s power and strength preoccupied other teams so much that it freed up space for John and Gary McSheffrey in particular.

Perhaps surprisingly, Adebola topped the appearance charts alongside Michael Doyle, playing 49 games during the campaign and scoring 12 goals.
